Length: 1 mi.
Surface: Natural
Difficulty/Use: Easy/for walking and cycling.
Access Point: from Oak Glen at the spillway.
The Piney Woods Loop is an out-and-back trail located between the Big Lagoon and the Northeastern Boulevard. After first meandering through the shady woods near the spillway, the trail later enters an open meadow. Take a quiet rest here at the kiosk and watch the hawks circling overhead or the geese, ducks, and other waterfowl on the water. Look for the turtle-filled islands in the lagoon. After traversing the meadow, the trail then enters a second shady glen where it ultimately circles back to return to the meadow.
